A Brief History of the Post-it Note

1960’s

In 1968 by Spencer Silver, a 3M scientist. However, the idea for the Post-it note came about almost by accident.

While Silver was working on developing a new, super-strong adhesive, he created a glue that was actually quite weak. His colleagues at 3M joked that he had "invented the 'un-sticky' sticky note." But Silver saw the potential for this new adhesive and continued to work on it. Eventually, he perfected the adhesive, and the Post-it note was born.
